Tim Mercer – Director
Tim graduated from the Royal College of Art with a Masters Degree in Photography and History of Art. While at the RCA, he was chosen to be a pupil of Bill Brandt, considered one of the most important British photographers of the 20th century.
He is a photographer, art director and designer who has captured some of the world’s leading names and faces and has worked for some of the best known magazines and agencies for 20 years whilst in London.
Now he draws his inspiration from his studio near Bath as a director in his publishing company. His portraits are in the photography collections of the National Portrait Gallery, the Royal Academy and the Victoria & Albert Museum. He has exhibited at the Royal College of Art, Black Swan Arts, the National Portrait Gallery and the Royal Academy and is a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society.
Freddie Mercer – Music Director
Freddie was a choral scholar at Downside Abbey and won a scholarship to Westminster Cathedral where he worked as assistant to Martin Baker, Master of Music, and also performed regularly in the cathedral. He has travelled around the world in a professional chamber choir singing the works of composers such as Faure, Byrd and Palestrina in some of the most prestigious buildings, from St Paul’s cathedral, Frauenkirche church in Munich to St Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican. He has recently written and produced original compositions at the famous AIR Studios in London whilst also composing music for film and tv. Freddie is now the music director of Mercer Books, transcribing, transposing and arranging the music and hymns for our various clients.
